This tournament was cancelled due to inactivity.Who wants to have a tournament? This tournament will be a single elimination round robin single battle 6 vs 6 style tournament, and standard Smogon OU rules apply except that Pokémon levels will be at level 50. The battles will be Wifi battles. Sign-ups will last until Tuesday, May 20th unless otherwise noted. I will be your tournament host and will not be in the tournament. Have fun! This is now a MIXED tournament. OU rules still apply, but your team may not have more than 2 OU Pokémon, and your team may not have more than 3 UU Pokémon. For example, a team with 2 OU, 3 UU, and 1 RU would be acceptable.
If you have any questions about tiers, don't hesitate to ask me. - Please leave a post saying "In" or something along those lines if you would like to enter the tournament.
The tournament will be round robin style. The person with the best record by Tuesday, May 27th wins.Tournament Entrants 1. elichevalier (0-0) 2. GoJosh (0-0) 3. swampert12894 (0-0) 4. E.T. (0-0)

We should do a PU or NU tournament. Then we would have more variety with the Pokémon being used :P

We should do a PU or NU tournament. Then we would have more variety with the Pokémon being used :P I don't have a problem with changing to that if there are enough people who have interest and have teams prepared. Edit: Of course, Pokemon from lower tiers can be used in OU as well.

Or just a straight mixed tournament, with only one OU Pokémon per team

If it's a mixed tier tournament, that would be awesome :) that way the variety of Pokemon will be greater and people won't use the same Pokes against each other. Honestly, OU has become so predictable it's not even fun anymore :P I hate OU with a passion haha

But don't change the rules just for me :) but maybe others will have the same opinion? It is YOUR tournament, do what you want with it!

But don't change the rules just for me :) but maybe others will have the same opinion? It is YOUR tournament, do what you want with it! My only reason for picking OU was that is the most common, and I figured that it would draw the most participants. I also understand how OU can get stale though. If people continue to favor the mixed tournament idea, I'll set a limit on how many OU Pokémon are allowed, but I would like to maintain the competitive clauses.

An idea I've had for a while now:
Each team would consist of: 1 OU Pokemon, plus banned non-legendaries (non-mega Blaziken, Mold Breaker Excadrill, etc.) 1 UU Pokemon 2 RU Pokemon 2 NU Pokemon
Of course, they don't ll have to fit a category. You could, say, have 2 UU Pokemon instead of one OU and one UU Pokemon. I've always wanted to see bizarre combinations like these on a single competitive team.
Whatever the tournament turns out to be, I want in! :D

Hey, where am I on the entrants list? :S Sorry, I didn't see your post when I was on earlier, and I had to leave suddenly. GoJosh, elichevalier, and potential entrants, do you like the idea swampert12894 had better than what I currently have setup for the mixed tournament conditions, or is the limitation of no more than 2 OU and no more than 3 UU enough diversity?

I'll take your idea better E.T. cause I've already got most of my team set up, don't wanna change a lot around haha also I'm not even sure who is in what tier, just OU

I like your idea, E.T., and I don't mean to bash it or glorify my idea. But I feel like if we had two thirds of the Pokemon be above the RU tier, there would be little to no room for the other two Pokemon to make an impact. With my idea, there would be much more room for each Pokemon to support each other In a unique way. A big thing about OU is that some of them rely on each other. Obvious example is weather-reliant Pokemon like Politoed, Swift Swim Kabutops, and Choice Specs Surfing Raichu. If there were a small amount but not too many of commonly used Pokemon, which I define as UU and above, I think that new strategies would come into play to take advantage of each other without being clichè.
I'd love to see a wall with yawn keep spamming yawn to make the opponent switch through dozens of entry hazards! :D. I could only do that with a Galvantula (OU) and a Slurpuff (which I assume is Never used, even if no such tier exists in Smogon's case, yet.). Oh, and the reason I use those examples is because a friend and I had a mirror matchup where those two Pokemon were in it. And even though 3 or 4 of our Pokemon were OU, Slurpuff was his biggest threat. :P. I'd LOVE to experience that again!
