Like I have posted in the Feedback Thread... I think the usage of PokeDollars could make/break the forums.
The more usage that you can provide, the more people will want to get pokedollars. This will make people stay on the site longer, and will make more traffic.
This is what is wanted by the pokemon community here. I'm sure I'm correct on all of these ideas.
Here are some ideas as to what people can use Pokedollars for :
1. The purchase of a Guild (names can vary)
2. Purchase of different colored names.
3. The trading of Pokemon. (Yes, I do realize you still have to trade another pokemon for a different Pokemon)
If you like my ideas, I will go into further detail, and post more. If you would like to PM me on this as well, please do. I have knowledge in this aspect.
Also, I can provide help in the TCG as well, as I know there is a need for a Moderator there. And I'm an avid card game player. Hit me up for all things that you need help on!
I will be glad to help!

Another idea I have is usage of donations.
The more usage you make out of pokedollars, the more people will want them. If you make it to where you can purchase them with real life money, they WILL be bought. Trust me on this.
Another usage on pokedollars would be name changes. The more members you have, the more people will want to change their name from their original. Needless to say, I already want to change my name. This would work greatly XD

You know what? Screw the fee! :) One Dunsparce coming up :D[/quote]
^^ Dirkeon is a prime example of what pokedollars has potential for. You want a drawing..? Send the price of what the artist wants, and it's yours. Same could be with signatures in a later use.

I don't like the use of real life money of things to make us popular, I hate corruption and it happens everywhere. People With no money need to have some equality too. Maybe donations are fine.
I agree on the usage of Pokedollars though. Something unique, entirely new and different than all the other Pokemon forums. I'd like to see the forums abuse its use(in a good way lol posting a lot, but NO spamming) to change their profile looks and appearance, status, stars etc. Members should also be able to donate Pokedollars to other members as a sign of Thanks or Like, this way it's used even more.

I'm almost certain there are particular laws that would prevent making money by way of a trademarked Nintendo product, so wouldn't necessarily advise this. Nintendo certainly didn't react well to the up rise of Let's Players on YouTube and how they had been monetizing their videos of Nintendo games. I'm no expert on law but 'donations' may be a different matter, should they be fed directly back into the upkeep of the website rather than for profit. But as I said, I'm no legal expert.

Well, the way I see it is that the real use of money for pokedollars is a great thing. One, they're donating to keep the site running. Two, they get something they want out of it. By donating irl money for pokedollars, they can receive stars by their name (donation stars). Could also be used as pokeballs instead. Money wouldn't necessarily corrupt the site. I know one site in particular that I was a member for 8 years now, and I have donated around $100 whenever I was really hurting for FG (forum gold). Forum gold is the equivalent to our PokeDollar. Everyone has their opinion. And yours is considered in my argument :)

Well, one is donating their money, correct? and as a gift of donating, they receive an amount of pokedollars. The donation is for the upkeep of the site, and is would be non-profit. Correct? If they use the name Pokedollars anyway, I'm sure it can be done.

Also, I know that this site is free. Whenever you feel like you want more control over what functions you can provide than this server can provide, the donations will come in handy and will help with what I'm talking about.

As I said, I am by no means of a legal background, nor is it my call to make. Regardless, I don't think it would be advisable.

Could always just change the name to something else. ex. gold, dollar, silver, etc. However, this is only an idea. If they want to look into the legal issues, they can. It's their site. I'm only trying to make their site more awesome than it already is.

Of course. Please don't misinterpret what I'm saying. I think it is essentially a brilliant idea that could, as you rightly put, make these forums even better than they already are. For example, spending money to be able to gain certain forum privileges, such as name changes and the colour of one's name - as long as that doesn't contravene any of the terms set by the forum hosts then that is potentially an excellent idea.
However, it can get a little iffy when it comes to exchanging money for something that Nintendo owns the rights to. I'll be honest, I don't know how far the legality of that stretches - ie. whether changing 'PokeDollar' to 'Gold' or 'Silver' will avoid those problems, or whether said 'Gold' or 'Silver' then being exchanged for other items based on the Pokemon universe would also be questionable as it is just a long winded purchase transaction. You're essentially still exchanging money for that item.
My apologies, though. I know I can come across a little brash at times, but it is certainly not intended. =)

Kind of hard to trademark something with such a common use. The name change to 'gold' or 'silver' would simply eliminate possibly legal issues. But it would be a great attribute to let users change the color of their name or user name changes. I see that you can change your forum name at will. However, this can become problematic whenever there are multiple users with the same name.

Aren't they all meant to have different usernames when they sign up? Unless you mean they have the choice to change it. Well, from my point of view there are those that agree and disagree. Why not let the forum have more members then bring up this matter again? The majority can vote and let their choice be known anyways.
