I've been trading for a lot of legends and I can't tell if they're legit or not. To be honest I don't even know if you can get hacked pokemon into X and Y, but if you can does anyone know how to check? Any help would be appreciated., I just don't want it to mess up my PokeBank.

Hey man, I've been having similar problems too, and not just with legendaries. I went on GTS to get a shiny Umbreon and it came over in a master ball, and similarly with a normal Rayquaza, it came through in a pokeball..
Anyway, with legendaries there are a few ways of telling. If they're event pokemon, they're usually in a special all-red pokeball. This isn't always the case, e.g. Oblivia's Shaymin Event, however a lot of them are. Secondly, most event pokemon come with a special ribbon that reads "a ribbon that proclaims love for pokemon". Thirdly, the OT name on event pokemon should be the name of the event they came from, e.g. MAY2012 or TRU.
Unfortunately, for non-event legendaries it's harder to tell and there's always going to be an element of risk when trading for them, but you should just use your common sense e.g. its pokeball, IV's, etc and hopefully you'll build a nice collection of legit legendaries. Hope this helped in some way and I'm sorry if I've missed anything out!
