I don't have many friends who are too interested in Pokemon to be honest, and I haven't watched the anime properly since I was probably about 10 or 11, so I rarely get to hear the names of the Pokemon being said.
Over Christmas I stayed with my aunt and my 13 year old cousin got Pokemon Y so he was constantly updating me on everything he was doing. But I noticed he would sometimes pronounce names differently to how I assumed they were pronounced. One example already being mentioned - he said "Sizz-or" instead of "Sy-zor" when talking about Scizor. I maintain the latter being correct.
But he also caught my ear when he caught a Snorunt. He pronounced it "Snow-runt" whereas I have always said "Snor-unt". It would make sense if he was correct, it being an ice type, but I had never even considered that I was saying it wrong.

Am I the only one who pronounce Magikarp as "Mah-gi-carp" whereas most other people in the internet pronounce it as "MAGI-carp" like from the word "magic" and "carp". It sounds really weird for me when I was really used to saying that.
Also, I am sometimes confused to pronounce Scizor. Sometimes I say it "Sizzor" like scissor and sometimes I say it "Ski-zor". XD
How about Sudowoodo? I always consider myself right in pronouncing it as "Soo-doo-woo-doo" but a friend of mine pronouces it as "Su-do-wu-do". I quietly points out that she's wrong. Very quietly. In my mind.

In my mind. I always pronounced it "Su-doh-wu-doh" but it's a difficult one (if you haven't heard it pronounced correctly). The name comes from the word pseudo, which is roughly pronounced "Su-doh" but wood isn't pronounced "Woo-d"... however, it wouldn't sound right if it was "Su-doh-wud-oh". Or at least to me it doesn't. I spent year pronouncing Suicune 'soo-eee-seen' when its actually 'swee-coon' :) when I heard it's correct pronunciation I felt like my world had changed I only recently learned how to pronounce it correctly, too. Although I think I spent every opportunity up until that point just plainly avoiding having to try and pronounce it at all.
