Don't know how many of you guys know about this site, but the makers of it are awesome! Basically a site that is full of sheet music (mostly piano) for Nintendo games. Of course, the link sends you to the Pokemon section because it's the best, but the LoZ section isn't half bad, either! Great resource for those of us who play musical instruments as a hobby. ^-^

Lately I've been trying to learn the Primal Dialga fight theme. I haven't touched a piano in years, despite being in band, but it's simply my favorite song of all time. If you ask me, the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon series as some of the best music I've heard. Definitely by favorite soundtrack of all time.

I'll have to look that one up. I'm definitely learning about a lot of great new music I never knew existed even from games I've played! I just play the stuff on my French horn, lol. I know where the notes are on the piano... And that's about it!

I'll have to look that one up. I'm definitely learning about a lot of great new music I never knew existed even from games I've played! I just play the stuff on my French horn, lol. I know where the notes are on the piano... And that's about it! My main instrument in Trombone...which means I don't have much room to sound like I'm playing the melody to something. The last time I had piano lessons was probably 6 years ago, where I went to a school that didn't give one you-know-what for instrumentalists. I had to stop taking lessons due to all the other stuff people wanted me to be in. Sports. Yuk. I never really cared for sports. And yet I'm still considered by leaders of the band I'm in as a good trombonist. I know all my music theory and stuff, and site-reading is something I excel at in Trombone music. Piano...would take me years to be able to do that. Let's say my body isn't great at keeping fingers (or other body parts) still, something necessary for being a great pianist. But I can totally relate to hearing awesome music and then wanting to play the game. Half of the time, I get into a game because of its music. When I re-hear music from a game I've played, it makes me re-live the past and want to re-play the game- Oh, darnit. I lost "The Game." Even though it's always in my signature. X|

Why don't you try your hand at euphonium, swampert12894? That might be a little easier to play the melody on stuff and you won't have to start trying to learn a completely different instrument! =] Yepyepyep! Hearing music from a game I used to play definitely makes me want to replay it too! Prime example is Twilight Princess! Love that music.

I actually learned Trumpet a while back for purposes of balancing the band's sound, (at one point Low Brass dominated the band,) but my band director forced me to stay on Trombone. I also learned it since a lot off my new band friends could play multiple instruments, and I couldn't. But I haven't played the trumpet it a little over year since there was really no point for me to, if no one was going to let me play it. To top it off, everyone thinks I'm lying that I can play it because I've never had a chance to show it off! So no small Trumpet ensembles, either... But let's not get off-topic. XD. Kingdom Hearts is the go-to game for me when I re-hear music. Definitely in my Top 3 for best soundtracks. Although I would love to hear at least one song from there fully-orchestrated. Excluding the main themes. Yoko Shimomura pwns all...well, besides whoever the heck composed Mystery Dungeon. Classic Spyro is another go-to. Spyro 3 was the first console game I owned, after all. One of the few games I have nostalgia for. Re-playing it makes me realize how little I cared for game music when I was younger. That alone might actually make me enjoy Spyro more as a young adult than as a kid. That, and I probably now that I have more gaming experience and now don't get frustrated when dying. And then we get back to Mystery Dungeon 2...one of the few games that I want to slam against the wall when I get frustrated. If it weren't for the music, I don't think I would be playing it today. But that's a story for another time...I got a dark history with that game, ironically.

swampert12894 will your director let you borrow a school trumpet until you buy your own? My old director would let us. Got my own horns before I graduated, though, since I doubt he would let me borrow them now, lol. I've never listened to any Mystery Dungeon soundtracks. I think I'll look some up because I've heard good things about it! Same with Spyro. Course, Donkey Kong Country 2 is the best soundtrack ever, lol. Yay, brass fans! I think! haha

My director would let me borrow a Trumpet, but I have my own. My mother bought one a few years back to try and re-learn it, but she doesn't use it any more. I used it more than anyone in the house. But it is now in a stage of not being touched. I find no reason to touch it, my youngest sibling is now a percussionist, and my other sister is currently learning a new woodwind instrument. But I digress...
DKC, huh? Never heard of stellar music from Donkey Kong games before, actually. But, of course, there's the DK64 rap...lulz. But I have heard some things in Smash Bros. Brawl from Donkey Kong things that made me raise an eyebrow or two. While browsing through music in the game (which I just lost AGAN...) I had a hard time determining which game was which, and what music might be original or totally changed.

Oh, yeah, DKC2 has some amazing original music. They touch it up slightly in Super Smash Bros, but for the most part, it sounds just as beautiful in the original game. Might I suggest Stickerbrush Symphony? And here's the pdf of it.

I've only ever tried to play game music from Final Fantasy VII, but I've thought about doing some for a while now. I've been trying to teach myself how to read sheet music again since I last had a lesson nearly a decade ago. I also haven't played a piano in an equal amount of time, as I have a few guitars, but it's the same in practice. Saved the page.

There's so many different levels of difficulties among the pieces, along with the MIDIs, so this is a great way to dust off those keys. ^-^
I just looked up some of the FFVII music, and it all looks pretty good! Might have some new stuff to learn. :3

Oh, wow, that's awesome! It appears he also contributes to Ninsheetmusic! He's posted basically all of the Red and Blue Rescue Team music they have by himself.
