Honestly, I haven't been into Anime since I was about 16 - which seems like an age ago!
I didn't really know or watch much even then, but here are my favourites from what I can remember;
1 - Digimon. The original series, of course. It got rubbish after. 2 - Yu-Gi-Oh. Again, the original. 3 - Pokémon. Anything with a Squirtle in sunglasses will win my heart. 4 - Cardcaptors.
I don't remember watching any others...

So many to choose from! I think these are just the ones that have left an impact on me, rather than being my particular favorites.
1. Welcome to the NHK 2. Arakawa Under the Bridge 3. Sakamichi no Apollon 4. Monogatari (Bake, Nise, Shiro, Neko, ect) 5. Sankarea
.. and /so/ many others that make me sad not to mention T_T

Shakugan No Shana was a great watch, but Naruto, DBZ, One Piece, Fairy Tail and Medabots are also great, too tough so I'm sorry I can't answer haha! I guess I'd just eradicate Fairy Tail from those options and that'd be a top five in no order ^.^

1.One Piece of course! The story is really deep and meaningful, each and every arc has its own lessons and experience, not all fightig and powers like other animes. Really really good for someone who prefers storyline over anything else. But as of late it's been mostly draggy(to prevent catching up with the manga) or else it'll become like Bleach.
2.Naruto! Come on who doesn't love it haha. This is one that has a lot of actions and it's so cool. I don't feel like writing another essay though LOL.
3.Bleach. Just, Amazing itself. However would've been no.1 if the anime didn't catch up to the manga cos the manga is great.
4.D.Gray-Man. This one is a mix of personal referrence and cos it's my second anime that I've ever watched. Really good and cool, too bad it ended same way as Bleach. Manga now on long hiatus too, it had SO MUCH potential.
5.Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood. Watch it then believe me it's good. Seriously. But it's short so instead of 4 it's 5.
Other notable animes: Attack on Titan- Everything is good, just that I'm not listing it cos it hasn't reached the important climax the manga is at currently.
Sword Art Online- Second arc -pure bs- Became too much of an ecchi and lovey dovey anime instead of the first arc which was REALLY good. I loved the concept a lot.
Death Note, Beelzebub, Inuysha, Jigoku no Shojou, and so much argh! Sorry for the long post, I feel like a nuisance but I love Anime a lot so it's worth sharing my experience ^.^ I can probably recommend much more good animes though, just that I'm listing what's on the top of my head.

Betashadow1 Really amazed by it right? Haha I love the manga the way it is now, everything is new shocking or unexpected, makes you excited for the next chapter. Wished it was in Weekly Shounen jump instead of monthly. I need my AOT!!!!
