I also feel as though it has the best group of pokemon and some fantastic locations

Johto had some great Pokemon, but Hoenn trumps with the amazing characters. Hoenn for me.

I say Johto because it has great locations, a nice layout, and great pokemon.

I would choose Kanto, it brings me back good memories XD And most of my favourite Pokémon are from Kanto (Scyther, Dragonair <3).
