Hey guys! So I know some of you here play Minecraft so I just wanted to tell everyone what server I play on so we might be able to play together. This is the server I play on Survivor Server the IP is survivorserver.com you have to sign up on the site though befor you can get on the server cause it's whitelisted. Don't worry it's %100 safe and %100 awesome. It has a few plugins but it's basically vanilla MC. My IGN is Emeraldrayquaza so if you want to get on this server with me that would be awesome! Just tell me what your IGN is on this thread so I know it's you when you get on. Anyway I thought this would be a cool way to stay in touch besides this site.

I might be interested in trying to join later. I have to fix my computer's overheating problems before I can play Minecraft again though. Currently, I can only play for about 2 or 3 minutes before the processor gets too hot and starts slowing down. Also, I haven't played regularly since about update 1.5 something, so I'm probably extremely rusty. lol.

That's typically the first thing we check for in overheating problems. That, or you could throttle the CPU. Desktop or laptop? I haven't played regularly since the new launcher came out. Modding sucks now, lol. But seriously.

Forge for 1.6.4 is just bad, in my experience, and then for everything past that, the coding in Minecraft got upended. It's so hard to do anything anymore. ='( We might just go back to Minecraft 1.5 and work on the mod, haha.

The cooling fan that I ordered came in today (for laptop), and it seems to cool it down pretty well so far. Would throttling the CPU to reduce heating also reduce processing performance (which is automatically reduced during overheating)?

Yes, it will reduce performance to throttle the CPU, but it is better than overheating. And Minecraft doesn't use a lot of CPU power if I remember right, just a ton of RAM. Another way to make it run faster, though, is under the Java arguments in the profile creator, put -Xmx350M. This will make Minecraft actually use less RAM, but that makes it perform better, believe it or not. Java associates about a GB for Minecraft otherwise, and that's way too much on most computers who need OptiFine. Unless you have like 16GB RAM with an i7 processor, lol.

I have a really bad PC but MC runs fine on it (With setting on fast though) so yeah MC isn't a very demanding game.

The cooling fan that I got is really cool. (pun intended) I also downloaded OptiFine, so my game is performing acceptably now. I played on the server a little bit last night, but I've already been eaten by zombies and skeletons, so I don't have my starter items anymore. lol.

I tried changing to Xmx350M, but it didn't help for me (it actually created lag). I've just been using the default Xmx1G, and it is working fine.
